FEARS of a major new global conflict have surged after an Indian politician accused Chinese soldiers of crossing the border and occupying territory in India. Tensions between India and China have already boiled over this year with a number of deadly border clashes. In June 20 Indian soldiers were killed during hand-to-hand fighting with Chinese troops along the countries disputed Himalayan border.
